A TERM IN IRELAND 21-22

Hello!! This last Saturday we had the Junior TIE exam, we were very nervous but also very prepared. Our bus driver gave us a card to wish us good luck in the exam, a very kind from him and we were very happy to receive it.                       The exam was structured in two parts: one for writing and the other for speaking. The exam questions were about a reading book, our daily life here in Ireland, a film we chose, one of the two traditional stories we worked on (one Irish and the other Spanish) or about a news story. All of us were really happy of how was the exam, and with the answers we gave to the examiners. We really noticed the improvement we did on the past weeks, so we could answer the questions with enough confidence and with a good level of english. Once we finished the exam we were relaxed and excited because we were going shopping.  Hi everybody! This Saturday after the English lesson were we had our last tips and lessons for the exam on next Saturday, the bus took us to Greystones beach. Located at the southern end of the town of Greystones. A very beautiful place, were we made a nice 20 minutes walk from were the bus droped us to the beach and once we arrived, some of us with our swimsuit on, we went straight to the water for a nice swim, but once we touch the water, was actually very cold and we had to get out immediately to dry off, but we also, talked and shared lots of laughs together while playing along the beach. Also, some of us went with the tutors to have an ice cream and a crepe in Gino's, a nearby cafe, icecream and crepe shop which was delicious and it remind us to summer feelings! Meanwhile, some of us played football with a group of Irish kids who were also spending the day at the beach and of course we won the match.   Hello!! It has been a wonderful bank holiday here! It began with the usual outing on saturday! We started the day going to Dublin and having the English class. There Audrey gave us the book we have to read and prepare for the exam. Afterwards, the bus collected us and we went off to the jumping zone! Most of us have trampolines in our host families so we were very prepared for the high jumps!  When we arrived we didn’t imagine that the jumping zone was that big! There were lots of different games and activities, such as slides, foam wrestling and wall climbing. Some of us practiced our gymnastic skills and most of the girls were really good at it. After an exhausting and intense hour in which we had lots of fun we took the bus off to our families. All of us we’ve been really happy to join with our friends again, it’s really fun to spend the day doing activities they like, as you can see.  Hello!!  It’s been a wonderful weekend for all of us! But specially on Saturday because we had a lovely weather: it was a sunny and bright day.  We enjoyed the day going to new bridge house and farm. First of all we had lunch all together on the fields of the farm and we were sharing laughs and stories between us.  After lunch we went inside of the farm and made a little tour around it and we saw the different animals of the farm. Audrey gave us a paper with some questions about the animals and then she challenged us: We had to find the differences between a male and female peacock. It was very interesting to find and learn about it. While we were looking for the answers we went around the farm and visited the different types of animals like: lamas, rabitts, hens, goats, peacocks, ducks, pigs, horses, sheep, owls, cows, and different kind of birds. We met another Saturday lucky to have a very good weather and the enthusiasm to tell everything we had done during the week and the little anecdotes lived all along these days. This week was our turn to make, our 1st stop at the church in Merrion Church so that anyone and those who wanted could go to confession... in Spanish, phew!!! We are learning a lot... But not ready to do that in English, yet! and  Later , we went to Outlands College for our English class: time flew!!! because Audrey is  our teacher and she makes the classes very dynamic .  After the class, we took the bus all the way to Phoenix Park, we took our bikes there ready for a ride. It was a real adventure using the gears on the bikes!!! , some of us needed to be reminded on how to ride, since it had been a while since we last rode a bike!!! Hello, hello The joys of Saturday are back!  This past Saturday we enjoyed, like every Saturday, the English class together, and we learned even more. So, as we were going to the zoo, the topic of the class was "animals", and we learnt vocabulary that we didn't know before, some of the words being very useful for that day. After that, we went to the zoo, where we met Loreto, who knows the zoo very well and was able to give us a guided tour all around the zoo park.  We saw many different types of animals: giraffes, monkeys, organgutans, lions, turtles, wolves, etc. We had a lot of fun and also took a lot of pictures. We also had a competition: we had to form groups of 4 and take funny pictures of different animals; one of the biggest animals, another one of a mammal, one of an aquatic animal, and one more of a flying animal.  We all managed to finish, even though we couldn't see elephants and had to look for another big animal instead.
